KAPPA Chapter HOME

Welcome!
We are delighted to have you visit the Kappa Chapter, Charlotte, NC, USA of the Delta Kappa Gamma International Society!

KAPPA GOES VIRTUAL

Kappa Chapter carries on strong despite social distancing guidelines.  We continue to meet and connect via Zoom meetings, front porch drop-off of donations and gifts to support one another and member sponsored projects. It will be great to be back together face-to-face as soon as it is safe, meanwhile it is good to see your face!

Outreach to Support New & Veteran Teachers
In lieu of the usual school supply donations, this year each of our new teachers supported by Kappa and our very own veterans teachers will receive back-to Many supplies were donated by Kappa members at the September kick-off to the new school year.
The school supplies were distributed to 8 new teachers at Albemarle Road Elementary.
5 are returning for a second year, and 3 entering their first year of teaching.
It is very exciting to be part of making their start as positive and supported as possible.

Other projects and support opportunities will be held throughout the school year.
Last year the provision of supplies, meals, gift cards, and holiday celebration items were happily received and appreciated by the new teachers being sponsored at Albemarle Road Elementary.

KAPPA is HONORED @ the NC-DKG 2020 Virtual Convention

Kappa exited from the annual NC-DKG State Convention with three certificates in hand for all that YOU have contributed to and participated in throughout the 2019-2020 school year.

Kappa was honored with the
Chapter Achievement Award of Excellence.
and the

Newsletter Excellence Award.
Be sure to check out the badge proudly displayed on our newsletters in the archives.

What proud accomplishments for our chapter!

As we move into the new year, keep in mind that your participation both in Kappa meetings and in your own outreaches count.    Attendance to meetings, making donations to the various efforts (both monetary and tangible), volunteering for state committees, applying for scholarships within the chapter, the state, and international layers of the society add points to our chapter's standing within DKG.  Additionally, all that you do to volunteer in all areas of your life count towards Kappa as well.  The chapter forms are available on the archives page for scholarships and volunteer tracking, while the state and national forms are located on those sites under the forms tabs. Remember our mission is to promote professional and personal growth so that as key women educators we can achieve Excellence.
